Sunday: Ben Carson, Donald Trump, and Kirsten Gillibrand
The 2016 presidential race continues heating up and questions are mounting over the crash of a Russian airplane in Egypt's Sinai Peninsula. This Sunday on "Face the Nation," we'll have the latest on those stories and more.
We'll talk with Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson, who's emerged as a favorite among some conservatives but has faced questions in recent days over his background and some statements about his past. Can the retired neurosurgeon weather the scrutiny? And how does he build on his momentum to avoid flaming out?
We'll also have an interview with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump. The business mogul continues to enjoy strong support in polls, but some of his GOP rivals are creeping up on him - and Carson has even surpassed him in some surveys. Trump, in response, has gone on the attack. We'll ask him where he hopes to take his campaign from here.
We'll sit down with New York Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, to get the latest on her fight to ensure health care for 9/11 first responders. We'll also talk with the senator about the downed Russian airliner, and we'll get her take on the 2016 campaign.
To help us dissect the latest news about the Russian airliner - and the possibility that terrorism may have been involved - we'll get some expert analysis from CBS News contributor Michael Morell, a former deputy director of the CIA.
And to pause and take stock of the busy news week, as always, we'll get insight and analysis from an expert panel, including the Washington Post's Ed O'Keefe, the Atlantic's Molly Ball, the Federalist's Ben Domenech, and Washington Post columnist David Ignatius.
We hope you can tune in for an exciting broadcast on Sunday! Check your local listings for airtimes.
