Stephen Collins and Faye Grant split after 27 years

(CBS News) Stephen Collins and his wife, actress Faye Grant, are separating after 27 years together.

"My wife and I are moving forward separately in our lives," the "7th Heaven" star revealed to Us Weekly in a statement. "She has been my dearest friend and a loving mother. I know that we'll go through this process in a way that honors our family."

Collins, 54, and Grant, 54, have a daughter named Kate.

Collins recently appeared in "The Three Stooges," playing bad guy Mr. Harter. Since wrapping his longtime role as Rev. Eric Camden on "7th Heaven" in 2007, Collins has appeared on several TV shows, including "The Office," "Private Practice," Brothers & Sisters" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit."
