Boy missing 4 years found behind false wall in Georgia
A 13-year-old boy who had been missing for four years was found by police hidden behind a false wall in a home in Jonesboro, Georgia.
Clayton County police made the discovery early Saturday morning during their second visit to the home. The first inspection, conducted late Friday, turned up nothing, but police received a second call hours later and found the boy, who has not been identified, hidden behind a false wall in a linen closet.
"Upon initial arrival, responding officers made contact with several occupants at the location who denied having knowledge of any information concerning the victim," Clayton County police Sgt. Kevin Hughes said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "After a brief search of the premises, the officers left without locating the victim."
"While at the location during the second call, the victim was able to establish phone contact with his mother and she in turn passed on additional information to the officers on the scene. The victim was found behind a false wall within the residence."
Five people at the home were arrested, including the boy's father and stepmother. They have been charged with false imprisonment, cruelty to children and obstruction, the Journal-Constitution reported.
The boy's mother, who lives out of state, was traveling to Georgia to be reunited with her son, police said.
