Prince once wrote a song called "Donald Trump (Black Version)"
Long after his death, Prince and his music will retain their relevance to pop culture -- and even, it seems, to political culture.
In 1990, Prince wrote a song for R&B/funk group The Time (also known as the The Original 7ven as well as Morris Day and the Time) that featured a prominent figure in politics today: Donald Trump.
The song's title: "Donald Trump (Black Version)."
While the love ballad, resurfaced by Buzzfeed on Friday, may not be the classic "Purple Rain" was, it's certainly a reminder of just how prolific a songwriter Prince was.
Here's a sampling of the lyrics:

Trump tweeted about Prince's death early Friday, calling the musician "an amazing talent" and a "wonderful guy":
