Poll: Clinton holds double-digit lead over Trump in Colorado
Hillary Clinton is leading Donald Trump by 11 points in Colorado, according to a new Monmouth poll, 49 percent to 38 percent among likely voters.
Seven percent support Libertarian Gary Johnson, and three percent support Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Both candidates have solidified their support among those in their party, with 95 percent of Democrats supporting Clinton and 90 percent of Republicans supporting Trump. Trump only had 78 percent of their support in July.
In July, Clinton led by 13 points, but she has increased her lead among independents by nine percentage points since July. She is also ahead among Hispanic, black and Asian voters by a margin of 71 percent to 17 percent. Clinton’s lead among women has diminished -- she now has a 13-point lead, instead of the 26-point lead she had among women in July. However, she has now overtaken Trump among men, 48 - 41 percent.
On the issue of temperament, Clinton has a 2-1 advantage, with 61 percent saying she has the right temperament for the job, compared to 31 percent saying the same of Trump.
Monmouth also polled the senate race, finding that incumbent Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet has a large lead over his opponent, Darryl Glenn, 53 - 35 percent
