Pilot, skydivers survive fiery crash in Phoenix suburb
GILBERT, Ariz. A pilot and four skydivers aboard a plane survived a fiery crash in a Phoenix suburb Saturday night, authorities said.
CBS affiliate KPHO reports the plane’s occupants were able to eject before the aircraft struck a house. The station reports a man and a woman were inside the home when the plane hit, causing a huge fire. Both managed to escape injury.
Gilbert police tweeted that the small plane was carrying skydivers for the annual Constitution Fair. Police said the pilot was transported to a hospital for burns.
The plane crashed around 7:30 p.m. near Ray and Gilbert roads.
