Paul Ryan: Obama should hunt to understand Second Amendment better
House Speaker Paul Ryan says he plans to dine with President Obama soon to discuss an agenda for 2016. But unlike his predecessor, John Boehner, he won't be hitting the golf course with the president. And he doesn't think Mr.Obama is particularly interested in hunting with him.
In a recent interview with "Face the Nation" moderator John Dickerson, Ryan said he last spoke with the president "before Christmas."
"It was after the appropriations bill passed," Ryan explained. "We both have been busy. We're trying to get our schedules to line up and we're planning on getting a meal together to talk things through about, you know, what does 2016 look like."
"And get a meal," Dickerson replied.
"A meal, yeah," Ryan said.
"Not golf?" Dickerson asked.
"No, I don't golf," Ryan responded. "I don't have time for that."
"And you're not going to take him to the blind or anything?" Dickerson joked.
"Yeah, I don't think he hunts, no," the speaker replied. "Maybe he should, then he can understand the Second Amendment a little bit better."
