Paris Jackson's brother cancels TV appearance

Paris Jackson's older brother has pulled out of a scheduled appearance on a German TV show following her hospitalization on Wednesday.

People reports that Prince Michael Jackson I, 16, was set to fill in for Paris, 15, on "Wetten, dass ...?" ("Wanna Bet?"). She was originally going to appear on the show for its summer edition, filmed in Mallorca, Spain.

But, on Thursday, a spokeswoman for the German TV station ZDF told People that Prince Michael's management had canceled his trip to Europe.

"Under these circumstances, we perfectly understand that Prince Michael prefers to stay close to his family. We wish Paris the strength and the power to recover soon," said the rep, Silke Blomer.

Paris Jackson was taken to a Southern California hospital early Wednesday morning after an apparent suicide attempt. The teen reportedly cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took as many as 20 ibuprofen pills.

In a statement, an attorney for Paris' grandmother and co-guardian, Katherine Jackson, said the teen is "physically fine and is getting appropriate medical attention."
