NY real estate developer's body found burned in dumpster

NEW YORK - The partially-burned body of a Brooklyn, N.Y., real estate developer was discovered in a dumpster in Long Island over the weekend, a day after police said he was kidnapped in Brooklyn, reports CBS New York.

Nassau County police said Saturday afternoon that a body found inside a dumpster at a Getty gas station in Great Neck on Friday afternoon was that of Menachem Stark, 39.

Stark, a real estate developer from the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, was reportedly kidnapped Thursday night.

CBS New York reports Stark was abducted by two suspects around 11:35 p.m. Thursday as he exited the Southside Associates real estate office in Brooklyn. He was allegedly forced into a light colored 2006 or 2007 Dodge Caravan.

The victim was likely duct taped, police said, according to the station.

The suspects drove off with the victim inside. The minivan was last seen heading east on Broadway in Brooklyn, police said.

Stark’s wife reported him missing after he didn’t return home.

Police have released a surveillance video of the incident and a photo of the minivan. No description of the suspects was available.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
