NYPD captures coyote following increase in sightings
New York City police officers captured a coyote Saturday following an increase in the number of coyote sightings in the city.
Multiple officers were dispatched to the Battery Park neighborhood near the southern tip of Manhattan Saturday morning to catch the female coyote, the department said.
The coyote was able to elude capture for about an hour before she was cornered in the outdoor seating area of a cafe.
The coyote was tranquilized and brought in a cage to an animal care facility.
No humans or animals received any injuries in the capture.
