Nakomis Booted From 'Big Brother'

Jennifer "Nakomis" Dedmon's street smarts and colorful style made her one of America's favorites when she was voted in as a "Big Brother: All-Star."

They also have gotten her evicted. Last night, by a vote of 8-2, the San Antonio native was sent packing.

"I'm playing this game really sloppy, and I'm up on the block because I've played my cards very wrong whenever I first came in the house. And now I'm having to suffer the consequences," she said on the show.

She chatted with The Early Show co-anchor Julie Chen about her eviction and the mistakes she says she made.

"I came into the house, and I didn't expect people to see me as the threat that they did," she said. "I trusted a couple of people, and I totally got in with the wrong side. I seriously think that, if I had just gotten with the season six alliance from the get-go, I would have so been in the house right now. Just because with Mike, Will and Erika, you can't tell what they're going to do, and they're very emotional players. If you get scared, it's pretty much over for you."

Nakomis said that "Big Brother: All-Stars" was definitely different from her first season the show, season five.

"With 'Big Brother 5,' it was a big team sport," she said. " 'All-Stars' is definitely an individual sport. My big problem was just trusting people from the get-go. I should have just gone in and been, like, it's me. That's all it is. I'm coming in individually, and I will leave as an individual."

Nakomis said that none of the contestants this season seem to rely on others when determining their own vote.

"The game that I've noticed is very wishy-washy. Everybody can't make up their mind one way or another," she said. "No one can really, like, grow up and make their own decisions. They have to go to everyone else and be like, 'Oh, what are you doing?' And then people make their decisions accordingly."

Nakomis has said that she feels she is very different from the other contestants in the house. Does she think this hurt her this time around?

"I don't think that my eclectic lifestyle really brought me any harm in this show," she said. "I think that me being 23 and having a really good head on my shoulders did me harm in this show just because I remember a point where Erika was like — I mentioned that I was the youngest — and she was like, 'Yes, you're the youngest with the most interesting things to say.' And it's just, like, whenever you're known for your strategic game play and you're the youngest and people, like, can't let you live that down, it hurts you."

The week before her eviction, Nakomis almost became head of household but Kaysar Ridha, of Irvine, Calif., beat her.

Last night, the houseguests competed in a competition called "Pay Attention" to see who would become the next head of household. James Rhine, the 30-year-old loss prevention manager from Miami, won the challenge.

Nakomis admitted that much of the game is about luck.

"I you win head of household, you're lucky enough to stay," she said. "If you don't, you don't. Like, I knew as soon as I didn't win head of household, I was like, 'Oh, this is it. Season six is such a huge presence in that house,' " she said.

Since Nakomis has been locked away from the outside world in the "Big Brother" house, she flunked Chen's current events pop quiz.

"I need to read a newspaper," Nakomis joked.
