A Texas judge says the Miss San Antonio pageant had the right to strip 17-year-old Domonique Ramirez of her crown, in a dispute that put a national spotlight on the teenager's size-2 figure.
Ramirez, who sued pageant organizers, on Wednesday lost her bid to temporarily stop them from taking her title and naming her runner-up as the new Miss San Antonio. The pageant ousted Ramirez last month, saying she violated her contract with conduct unbefitting a beauty queen.
The pageant accused Ramirez of being chronically late for events - and of an adding an inch or two to her figure.
Ramirez denied the allegations, and the issue over her weight made her the target of interview requests from as far away as Australia.
Miss San Antonio runner-up Ashley Dixon is now in line to represent the city in the Miss Texas pageant.
