Maryland airport stops woman with gun-shaped stiletto heels
LINTHICUM, Md. -- Officials say a woman was stopped by airport security Sunday because she was carrying a pair of gun-shaped stiletto high heels in her bag.
TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein says she was stopped at a Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport security checkpoint with the handgun shaped heels, complete with faux bullets fastened around the soles, in her carry-on. Along with them were bracelets, also lined in fake ammo.
The agency prohibits passengers from carrying "replica guns or ammunition" through airport security checkpoints.
CBS Baltimore reports that, according to the Transportation Security Administration, the woman surrendered them once she ran out of time to put them in her checked bag.
