Man dressed as "Frosty the Snowman" arrested during Md. Christmas parade
(CBS/AP) CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Look at "Frosty" go!
A man in a "Frosty the Snowman" costume was arrested Saturday after an apparent meltdown at Chestertown's annual Christmas parade.
CBS Baltimore reports the man dressed as "Frosty" is accused of scuffling with police and kicking at a dog.
The Star Democrat of Easton reports Sgt. John A Dolgos said Kevin Michael Walsh, 52, was "agitated" when a dog-handling officer tried to escort him away from the crowd. Walsh allegedly took off the head portion of the "Frosty" costume and hit the officer in the face with it.
The officers placed Walsh on the sidewalk "as part of a routine takedown," Dolgos said. He described the arrest as very public, and Walsh could be heard screaming "You have no right to arrest me" over the sounds of the parade.
Walsh said he has dressed as Frosty in the parade for over a decade and that he was wrongfully arrested. He claims a policeman hassled him after he made a comment about the police dog's presence. He says he only became angry after being arrested.
Frosty - er, Walsh - is charged with assault and disorderly conduct.
