Police: Virginia mom stabs crying infant daughter
WOODBRIDGE, Va. --Police say a 3-month-old girl has been hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after her mother stabbed her when the baby wouldn't stop crying.
Prince William County Police said Monday that 35-year-old Leah Arrington of Woodbridge is being held without bond on a charge of aggravated malicious wounding.
According to police, Arrington was watching the girl Saturday afternoon in the family home. As the baby continued to cry, police say Arrington used a kitchen knife to stab the baby in the lower body.
Another family member called police.
The baby was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, and Arrington was arrested without incident.
