Kate and William share Christmas card portrait, announce that Princess Charlotte will start nursery school

Prince William and Duchess Kate shared the family portrait they used on this year's Christmas cards. The royals also announced that their daughter, Princess Charlotte, will begin nursery school in January.

Kensington Palace announced on Twitter that the family portrait was taken earlier this year by Getty photographer Chris Jackson. In the photo, Prince George and Princess Charlotte are dressed in blue to match their parents.

Kensington Palace announced that Princess Charlotte, who turned 2 last May, will attend the Willcocks Nursery School in London starting in January 2018. The school released a statement via Kensington Palace, saying, "We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte. We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery in January."

Prince George, who is 4, started at Thomas's Battersea, a private school in south London, in September. George and Charlotte are expecting another sibling; Duchess Kate is due to give birth to a third child in April.
