Harry Smith moving to NBC

(CBS) Harry Smith is moving over to NBC.

It was announced Friday morning that Smith is leaving CBS News. Smith joined CBS News in Dallas in 1986.

NBC says it will make an announcement Monday about Smith's role at the network. TVNewser reports Smith is expected be a part of a primetime newsmagazine show anchored by Brian Williams.

Smith has had  many roles at CBS, including "The Early Show" co-anchor and substitute anchor for the "CBS Evening News."
