Ga. teacher accused of classroom sex assault on two students
MCINTOSH COUNTY, Ga. - A former high school math teacher was arrested Saturday in southeastern Georgia for allegedly sexually assaulting at least two of her male students, and authorities said there may be more victims, reports CBS affiliate WTOC.
Lori Carmichael Quigley, 41, was arrested at her home in Brunswick on three counts of sexual assault by a person with supervisory discipline authority, according to investigators with the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office.
An arrest affidavit reveals investigators said Quigley had a sexual encounter in her classroom with two students in September and October of 2012, reports the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. A third encounter with one of the two students allegedly took place this past January at a Waffle House restaurant.
Quigley taught math at McIntosh County Academy. She resigned on March 6, according to WTOC.
Quigley was granted a $50,000 bond Thursday, and is not allowed to have any unsupervised contact with persons under the age of 18, the station reported. She must remain in Georgia and reside in Glynn County unless given permission to leave by the court.
The station reports that the case remains under investigation.
