Christina Aguilera arrested for public drunkenness, say reports

(CBS) - Reports say Christina Aguilera was arrested by Los Angeles sheriff's deputies on suspicion of public drunkenness while riding back from a West Hollywood club Tuesday morning.

Police say they pulled over a car at about 2:45 a.m. in which Aguilera, 30, was sitting in the passenger's seat, reported The Los Angeles Times.

Aguilera was taken into custody, because she appeared to be intoxicated, according to the paper. Aguilera's boyfriend 25-year-old Matthew Rutler, according to E!, was arrested for driving under the influence

According to Fox News, the singer was being held on $250 bail for her own protection. Rutler's bail was set at $30,000.
