Charles Manson follower "Tex" Watson seeks parole
(CBS/AP) SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Charles Manson's "right hand man" will ask a California parole board to let him out of prison Wednesday.
Charles "Tex" Watson, 65, helped orchestrate the infamous Tate-LaBianca killings near Los Angeles in 1969. The murders took place over two nights and brutally ended the lives of seven people, including actress Sharon Tate, who was eight-months pregnant at the time.
Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Patrick Sequeira calls them "some of the most horrific crimes in California history."
Watson has already been denied parole 13 times and four relatives of his victims plan to ask that he remain in prison.
Watson's attorney, Cheryl Montgomery, and his family did not respond to requests for comment.
