Celebrities react to Steve Harvey's Miss Universe flub
Viewers around the world flinched when Steve Harvey said he had made a mistake when he announced the winner of Miss Universe.
Harvey explained later that he misread his cue card and saw that Miss Colombia had won "First runner-up," and mistakenly thought Ariadna Gutierrez was the winner, when in fact Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach, had won the competition.
Plenty of celebrities who were watching the competition chimed in, with some, like Justin Bieber, cracking jokes at Harvey's expense, while others expressed their sympathy for the comedian.
Pageant judge Niecy Nash was one of the first to react at the pageant, sending a selfie video about the "pandemonium." Later, she praised Miss Colombia for her graceful response to the error.
Also on the scene was Olivia Culpo, who praised Harvey for doing the right thing in the end.
Most people backed up Harvey and said it was an honest mistake, while a few cringed.
Justin Bieber posted a meme that poked fun both at himself and at Harvey.
Former Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump seemed to be the only celebrity who openly gloated about Harvey's error; not too surprising for the presidential candidate who prides himself on being very vocal about his decisions.
