Bob Dylan releasing a covers album in 2015
Bob Dylan, one of the most acclaimed songwriters in rock history, is taking a moment to honor the work of his peers; he has a cover album officially slated for 2015.
The LP, titled "Shadows in the Night," marks the 73-year-old's first record of new material since 2012's "Tempest."
As Rolling Stone reports, ads inserted into advance copies of Dylan's forthcoming "The Basement Tapes Complete" collection confirms the release for next year.
Dylan first hinted at the record back in May when he released a blissful cover of Frank Sinatra's 1945 track, "Full Moon and Empty Arms."
It's unclear what other tracks will be on the album at this time.
This is not Dylan's first stab at a cover album. In 1993, he released "World Gone Wrong," where he rearranged traditional American songs, and in 2009, he tackled Christmas hymns and carols on "Christmas in the Heart."
