Aretha Franklin cancels show because of exhaustion
Aretha Franklin is canceling her Friday-night show in Las Vegas because of exhaustion.
The 73-year-old singer said in a statement Tuesday that she has to reschedule the show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace after driving her bus from Detroit to the West Coast for concerts.
She recently performed in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, California, and Oakland, California.
Franklin wrote: "I thank all of my fans, friends and supporters who bought tickets. I hope to see you all soon."
Franklin performed Monday night at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, marking her first concert in the Bay area in nearly 40 years.
"I just want to say what a treat it's been for me to come back to Oakland after all these years," Franklin told the crowd, according to San Jose Mercury News, which gave her show a stellar review. "What a wonderful time we had tonight."
