5-year-old Mass. girl dies after falling 30 feet from window

BROOKLINE, Mass. -- Police said a 5-year-old girl has died after she fell out of a fourth-story window in Massachusetts, CBS Boston reports.

Brookline Police said the girl had been playing with friends in the suburban Boston apartment when she fell Monday afternoon. Authorities said adults were in the apartment at the time of the fall and the window had a screen.

The girl was taken to a nearby children's hospital with serious injuries. Police said late Monday that she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Lt. Philip Harrington said there's no indication of foul play.

Police responded to the scene in Brookline around 3:30 p.m. Monday. They said no other information is available at this time.
