​3 teens charged with armed robbery at North Carolina high school

MINT HILL, N.C. -- Three students have been arrested and charged with robbing another student at gunpoint at a Charlotte-area high school.

Police in Mint Hill told local media that the robbery occurred Monday afternoon at Rocky River High School.

A 15-year-old boy told police he was walking down the hall when three students surrounded him, showed him a handgun and demanded his money.

Surveillance video shows the teens walking away and dividing the money. Police would not release the video.

The teens arrested are charged with robbery, conspiracy and possession of a weapon on school property. Their names have not been released.

A spokeswoman for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools would not reveal security measures at the school.
