3 ICE agents injured in Northern California shooting, officials say
(CBS/AP) Petaluma, Calif. - Federal officials say three Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents were shot and injured while serving warrants in the San Francisco Bay area. The shooting in Petaluma, north of San Francisco, apparently broke out around 4 a.m. Thursday.
The federal agency says they were shot during an operation that is part of an ongoing criminal investigation. A suspect is now in custody.
Two of the agents suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, while a third suffered only minor injuries, according to a spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security who identified the officers as members of a special response team, reports CBS San Francisco. All three agents were hospitalized.
