1 dead in shooting at Hells Angels funeral
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Police say a man was fatally shot during a funeral in San Jose, Calif., for a Hells Angels member who was killed in a Nevada casino shooting.
San Jose police spokesman Jose Garcia says a member of the motorcycle group was gunned down at Oak Hill Cemetery around 1 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral was being held for Hells Angel Jeffrey "Jethro" Pettigrew, who was president of the Hells Angels' San Jose chapter.
A member of the rival Vagos motorcycle club is accused of killing Pettigrew Sept. 23 in a Sparks, Nev., casino, sending gamblers diving for cover. The mayor canceled a regional motorcycle rally as a result.
The San Jose Mercury News reports police and Santa Clara County sheriff's deputies are now guarding the Hells Angels headquarters in San Jose.
