STS-133 Mission Priorities (Source: NASA)
Category 1 Tasks
- Dock Shuttle Flight ULF5 to PMA-2 port and perform mandatory crew safety briefing for all crewmembers.
- Install EXPRESS Logistics Carrier (ELC) 4 to S3 Lower Inboard Common Attach Site (CAS) using SRMS and SSRMS.
- Install PMM to ISS Node 1 Nadir port using SSRMS.
- Transfer critical items per Flight ULF5 Transfer Priority List (TPL)
Category 2 Tasks
- PMM Activities
--Perform PMM PCBM sealing surface inspection
--Perform minimal activation and checkout to preserve the module and cargo.
- Activate ELC4
- Transfer and stow critical items per Flight ULF5 TPL.
Category 3 Tasks
- Complete the following EVA tasks:
--Install J612 cable and relocate Node 3 P612
--Relocate Pump Module from MBS POA to ESP2 and vent ammonia
--Retrieve Light Weight Adapter Plate Assembly (LWAPA) from Columbus Nadir --External Payload Facility and install in Payload Bay.
--Install Camera wedge at CP3.
--Perform Port stowage beam assembly troubleshooting.
--Install CLA Cover on Camera Light Pan-tilt Assembly (CLPA) (IVA) and install CLPA assembly on Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (SPDM).
--Remove SPDM EP1 thermal cover.
--Reinstall starboard SARJ ETRS, two rail stubs and two launch restraints, reconfigure S3 MT stop and tether Shuttle stops.
--Perform JAXA Message in a bottle.
- Activate and Checkout PMM
- Activate PMM systems.
- Ingress PMM.
- Install one Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFE) and one Portable Breathing Apparatus (PBA) in PMM
- Support communication requirements (voice and video) for RSA EVA prep
--Perform daily ISS payload status checks
--Transfer O2 from the Orbiter to the ISS
--Transfer N2 from the Orbiter to the ISS
--Transfer remaining cargo items per Flight ULF5 TPL.
- Activate and check out compound specific analyzers-combustion products (CSA-CP)
- Install and return Radiation Area Monitors (RAM'S).
- Perform daily middeck payload activities
- Perform ISS payload research tasks.
- The following EVA tasks are deemed to fit within the existing EVA timelines; however, may be deferred if the EVA is behind schedule. The EVA will not be extended to complete these tasks:
--Remove MLI from ELC4 ExPCA.
--Close P1 RBVM Thermal Bootie
--Retrieve Articulating Portable Foot Restraint (APFR) #4, relocate Tool Stanchion (TS), & remove heat shield IVA.
--Reinstall APFR#4 on ISS external.
--Install SSRMS LEE A Elbow CLPA lens cover.
--Stow Vent tool extension bags 1 and 2 on Airlock
--Retrieve jettison stowage bags
--Install P3 CETA light.
--Remove MLI tent from Node 3 nadir/PMA3 interface.
--Install lens cover on POA CLA.
--Install SPDM CLPA #2 lens cover.
--Open Z1 RPCM MLI Flaps.
- Complete CP3 Camera calibration, checkout and survey after the CP3 Wedge is installed and downlink data for analysis.
- Perform IVA tasks
- Transfer water from Orbiter to ISS.
- Reboost the ISS (placeholder)
- Perform imagery survey of the ISS exterior during Orbiter fly around
- Perform checkout of ELC4.
- Perform DTO-701B (DRAGONEYE)
- Perform structural SDTOs per the MIP
Minimum Duration Flight
In support of completion of CAT 1 Mission Objectives, the MDF consists of the following (Reference Flight Rule ULF5_C2-15):
- FD-3 - Rendezvous and Dock With ISS, and ELC4 unberth and install to S3 nadir inboard CAS
- FD-4 - OBSS unberth/handoff, Passive PMM PCBM sealing surface inspection, PMM install, and transfer mandatory and critical items per ULF5 Transfer List
- FD-5 - Focused Inspection, Minimal PMM activation, off duty, and Hatch Closure
- FD-6 - Undock, OBSS Berth, Cabin Stow, FCS Checkout, and RCS Hot Fire
- FD-7 - Deorbit
